About the course

Designed by the renowned Harry Shapland Colt in 1933, Newbattle is a mature parkland course set within woodland near Edinburgh, enclosed by historic Newbattle Abbey policies. The 5912-yard par 69 layout crosses the River Esk via the centuries-old Maiden Bridge and is regarded for its well-maintained greens and strategic bunkering; visitors are welcome most weekdays.
