Modern parkland course opened in 1991 near Ongar, featuring water hazards, mature trees and a well-regarded clubhouse restaurant.
A brief history
Toot Hill Golf Club opened in 1991, part of the late-twentieth-century boom in parkland golf course construction across Essex. The course was developed near the village of Ongar with water hazards designed into the routing to give the layout strategic interest. The clubhouse was built to support both the golf operation and a wider restaurant business, and that hospitality focus has remained a distinguishing feature of the venue. Over the three decades since opening, the trees have matured and the course has settled into a well-regarded parkland venue with a steady members' base and busy society calendar.
