Henry Cotton-designed 6,704-yard parkland course set in mature woodland on the Essex-London border near Epping Forest.
A brief history
Abridge Golf and Country Club opened in 1964 with the course designed by three-time Open champion Henry Cotton, one of the most celebrated British golfers of the twentieth century. Cotton designed a small number of courses during the latter part of his career and Abridge is one of his better-known parkland layouts in the south-east. The course sits in mature woodland on the Essex-London border near Epping Forest and has built a strong reputation among Essex club golfers over the decades. It remains a country club with an active members' calendar and a busy society programme.
