Established in 1893 as a nine-hole course and extended to eighteen holes in 1979, Thornhill is a parkland layout stretching 6,102 yards across relatively level terrain in Mid Nithsdale. The course combines a mixture of parkland and heathland, offering panoramic views and a welcoming challenge for golfers of all standards, with a strong amateur competition record and several members who have pursued professional careers.
