Swanston Golf Club began as an Edinburgh ladies-only course in 1927 and expanded to 18 holes the following year to accommodate male guests. The layout was substantially revised in 2009 with seven new holes, and further refined in 2016 when two holes from the neighbouring Lothianburn course were incorporated. Today it operates alongside the nine-hole Templar Par 3 course and houses the Swanston Golf Academy with comprehensive practice facilities and a professional club-fitting studio.
