Recognised as the world's oldest inland course still playing on its original ground, Lanark has occupied the same moorland since 1851, when Old Tom Morris and George Sayers first laid out the layout. James Braid refined the design in 1927, creating much of the character golfers encounter today, a firm and flowing moorland test played across glacial sands that has earned its place among Scotland's finest, ranked 33rd in the country and hosting major amateur championships and Open qualifying.
