About the course

Downfield is a championship parkland course set in woodland near Dundee, designed by James Braid in the 1930s. It has hosted major qualifying events including the inaugural Scottish Open in 1972 and final qualifying for The Open Championship in 1999, and counts the 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie among its honorary members.
