About the course

Ardeer Golf Club, founded in 1880, is a parkland course with undulating fairways and a burn that guards many greens, offering views across the Firth of Clyde. The club has deep Ayrshire roots and counts among its past members two Open Champions and multiple Scottish Amateur Champions, alongside a full suite of modern facilities including a simulator, function hall and catering.

  • Founded 1880, among the oldest clubs in Ayrshire
  • Former members include Jamie Anderson (three Open Champions winner) and Willie Fernie (Open Champion 1883, designer of Ailsa course at Turnberry)
  • Hamilton McInally, Scottish Amateur Champion 1937, 1939, 1947 was a member
  • Jackie Cannon won Scottish Amateur Championship in 1969 at age 52, oldest winner ever
  • Original 9-hole course on Sandyhills area; relocated to Ardeer in 1905
  • Original red sandstone clubhouse from first location remains
