Old Tom Morris designed this challenging nine-hole course in 1895 on a hillside above Bridge of Allan, where the terrain offers no flat lies and blind shots weave between stone walls and crossing fairways. The opening hole, a 223-yard par 3 with a steep uphill climb and fronting dyke, ranks among the toughest short holes in Britain, and recent visitors enjoy equally dramatic views across the Forth Valley and Stirling area.
