Bathgate is a James Braid-designed parkland course established in 1892 with a distinguished pedigree: it has produced two Ryder Cup captains in Eric Brown and Bernard Gallacher, plus international player Stephen Gallacher. The inland, tree-lined layout stretches to 6,300 yards off the men's tees at par 71, with mostly flat and walkable holes that nevertheless present a characterful challenge typical of Braid's style.
